What We Treat

At every level, our treatment is private and individual. From our initial consultation to the treatment process and aftercare, patient anonymity and privacy protection is important to us. All documentation, and personal data is treated in a confidential way by our experienced (medical) treatment team.

Each individual’s personality influences how they see themselves and therefore how they understand and respond to the world around them.

These disorders are characterized by unresolved patterns of behaviour, thinking, and feeling, which affect relationships with other people.

Tension is defined as the response to the anticipation of a future threat or perceived threat. Fear is an emotional response to a real or perceived imminent threat. Since they are very similar, it is not uncommon for them to overlap, although they are different.

Anxiety disorders, like depressive disorders, can start at any age. If left untreated, they tend to persist over time, which can be very disabling and painful for the individual.

OCD is characterized by the presence of obsessions and/or compulsions.

The difference is that an obsession is a thought, almost like a rule, that is recurrent and persistent and that is perceived as intrusive and unwanted.

The compulsion is the repetitive behaviour that the individual feels they have to do because of the obsession.

The obsessions and compulsions are distinct from normal and typical worries because they are excessive, persistent, and often last longer than normal periods.

Trauma can be characterized as exposure to a traumatic or stressful event. The indirect exposure can be harmful to the individual, but will not necessarily lead to a trauma disorder. These events can range from natural causes to wars, with factors including violence, neglect, death, rape, and terrorist attacks.

The reactions can be divided into short-term and long-term reactions. For the short term, the most common are usually a feeling of shock and/or denial. More long-term examples include reactions such as flashbacks, panic attacks, sleep disorders such as insomnia.

Depression is a mood disorder that is quite common.

Depression can start at any age. Depression can be caused by a number of factors such as genetics, the environment or be related to other disorders.

But the most important is remembered that depression can be treated. We suggested to do out patient treatment, one or two days care or online. Our patients prefer the hybrid approach by doing one or two days in one of our locations plus two individual online sessions a week.

Alcoholism, also known as alcohol use disorder (AUD), is a chronic disease characterized by an inability to control or stop drinking despite adverse consequences.

It involves both physical and psychological dependence on alcohol, leading to a range of harmful effects on a person’s health, relationships, and daily functioning.

In same cases treating alcoholism typically involves a combination of approaches:

1.  Detoxification– Medically supervised withdrawal from alcohol.

2. Psychology & Counseling Therapy– Behavioral therapies, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), to address the psychological aspects of addiction.

3. Medications– Certain medications can help reduce cravings or manage withdrawal.

Alcoholism is a serious condition, but with proper treatment and support, recovery is possible.

Drug addiction, also known as substance use disorder, is a chronic and often relapsing condition characterized by a compulsive need to seek out and use drugs despite harmful consequences.

It affects the brain’s reward system, leading to physical and psychological dependence on substances. However at Believe in You we see that the addicted individual is suffering from a complex disease that has changed the functioning of the brain. It is not a lack of willpower.

Drug addiction is a serious condition, but with proper treatment and support, recovery is possible.
